Because TubeMate is not for everyone.

For those on the lookout for the best alternative to TubeMate, you gotta check out this app called KeepVid. To be honest, I’ve been using their web service for quite some time now, and I’ve liked it for the most part.

However, if are looking for an app for your Android phone so that you can download your favorite videos from pretty much any video streaming service, you’re probably gonna love the KeepVid Android app.

The best part of this app is that it not only lets you download videos from YouTube, but also from a number of other websites including Daily Motion, Funny or Die, AOL, and even Instagram.

Another thing I liked about KeepVid is that it lets you save YouTube videos in the form of mp3 music files. This feature comes in handy when you’re downloading a song from the popular video streaming service, but you don’t want that stupid video scenes to spoil the fun.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the app has a dedicated tab for showcasing all your downloads. Speaking of which, it shares a striking resemblance to UC browser’s download tab and that’s certainly a good thing. In fact, that feature is the only reason why I still have the browser installed on my phone.

KeepVid also lets you download multiple videos simultaneously, which is a nice feature to have, provided you have a high-speed connection. The app also supports multiple video resolution formats, including 1080p, 2K, 4K, HD, and UHD.

Now, of course, the app is not available for download directly from the Play Store and you’ll have to download either from a third party site or directly from KeepVid’s official website.

Abhin’s love for all things tech started when he got his first smartphone, Galaxy S (the first), in 2010. Since then, he has been crazy about technology and tried out all major Android flagships from Samsung, and HTC. He currently uses a Google Pixel 4a as his daily driver.
