Is the ICICI bank app on your Android phone opening up automatically? Well, you’re not alone! Several Android users have reported the same issue and the bank is reportedly working on releasing a fix as soon as possible.

Numerous ICICI’s iMobile users are complaining that the app is opening up automatically while they are using some other app. One user writes: ‘After updating to the latest version it is again and again automatically launching the ICICI bank application. It is very annoying… Pls resolve this issue…’

ICICI bank has confirmed that they will be rolling out a new update to fix the issue anytime soon.

Besides the unauthorized app opening issue, the ICICI bank app like every other bank apps has several issues. The UI is not that user-friendly, sign-in issues, UPI errors are some of the usual problems that users complain about.

For the uninitiated, iMobile is the ICICI bank’s mobile banking application that is available for both Android and iOS. It lets you check your balance, pay your mobile phone, DTH, and broadband bills, sign up for loans and offer many more features. It also supports UPI transactions.

Note: A new iMobile update seems to have fixed the issue.

How to fix the issue of ICICI app opening automatically

A permanent fix is not available as of now. However, as the bank is reportedly working on a fix, you can expect a new update anytime now.

While you wait for the new update to show up, we suggest you clear up the cache and see if that fixes the issue, at least for now.

To do so, you’ll need to follow these steps:

    1. Head over to Settings.
    2. Tap on ‘Apps and Notifications’.
    3. Select the iMobile app and click ‘Storage’ option.
    4. Tap ‘Clear Cache’ and wait until the cache is cleared.
    5. Now, go back and tap on ‘Force Stop’.
    6. Restart the app and see if that has fixed the issue.

This is obviously a temporary solution, so we suggest you keep an eye out for new updates every now and then.
