LG’s new forthcoming flagship device V30 will have a curved edge-to-edge display with narrow bezels.

LG has already confirmed the launch of its forthcoming smartphone LG V30 at the IFA conference. The company has already shown off the software, UX 6.0+, that will be running on the device. Apart from that, we already know how the device would look like; thanks to the folks at HitRecord who leaked the device in live pictures. And now, as if that wasn’t enough, popular concept creator Benjamin Geskin has created a mockup render of how the V30 would stack up against the current LG flagship G6. And, oh boy, the V30 is just gorgeous!

Benjamin Geskin made these renders based on the data obtained in the recent leaks, so we can be pretty sure it’s the final design of the forthcoming device. Although the Korean firm would retain the all-screen front design on the V30, it has further enticed the design by adding curved edges to the longer sides. To give you a better perspective, the company has made a design that looks more like Samsung’s Galaxy S8 rather than their own G6. And, that’s not a bad thing at all, since the new design looks more inspiring than that of G6’s.

The new UI called the UX 6.0+ is specially made to fit the new design and aspect ratio (18:9) of the device so that you can enjoy your favorite videos, games and other media files seamlessly on the LG v30. Unfortunately for some LG fans, the reason for ditching the secondary ticker (one of the unique features of V series) did not turn out to be appealing. However, LG has added a new feature called Floating Bar in place of the secondary display. Speaking of the feature, it will float on the display for the most part providing you easy access to recently used apps.

Besides the normal LG V30, we will also get to see a Plus variant boasting better storage options. Although we don’t know much about the V30 Plus, the normal variant should feature a 6.0-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage. Besides, it’ll mark the first V-series phone to come with wireless charging feature onboard.

Here’s how the new V30 would stack up against Galaxy S8 and LG G6.

Abhin’s love for all things tech started when he got his first smartphone, Galaxy S (the first), in 2010. Since then, he has been crazy about technology and tried out all major Android flagships from Samsung, and HTC. He currently uses a Google Pixel 4a as his daily driver.

  1. I have been with HTC the last five years (M7) and currently have the HTC 10 which I’ve enjoyed both but since HTC ditched the headphone Jack an I’ve heard rumors the U11 doesn’t run properly on Verizon network the LG V30 will be my next smartphone for sure if Verizon offers it which I’m pretty sure big Red will. I already had my mind made up soon as I heard about the V30 but was also considering the pixel 2 if they made the right moves which now is clear doesn’t seem to be the case from what I’ve gathered and pixel will also follow suit and ditch the headphone Jack like other flagships have done so I won’t waste any time grabbing the V30 just as soon as it becomes available.

    • The V30 is indeed shaping up to be one of the hottest releases of this year. However I suggest you wait until Samsung unveils what it has in store for us with the Note 8, assuming you’re okay carrying a phablet.

      • indeed the V30 is looking pretty impressive. the note 8 I have been also considering but forgot to mention, I’m going to be taking a look at that as well I think it supposed to be unveiled in a couple of days if I’m not mistaken, I’m sure the note 8 will be another stellar device but it may be a little too big for me as I prefer a one handed device, and since the V30 has a tad bit smaller screen plus the curved display it will suit me better because I’ve held the S8+ and it felt surprisingly good in one hand despite its rather large screen for a smartphone I think the V30 will feel about the same as the S8+. I would have probably gotten the S8+ but I wasn’t quite ready to upgrade then so the V30 is catching me about right and I think the V30 will bring over the same high quality DAC from the V20 an have better audio which is a big reason I’ve been with HTC the last five years is because I like good audio. but nevertheless I’m not counting the note 8 out its still under consideration but I’m leaning more towards the V30.
