MediaTek Helio G200 is the latest addition to the semiconductor company’s budget Helio G range of chipsets, and while it isn’t very different from its predecessor G100, the former appears to have a slight edge in connectivity thanks to 4G DC SAR technology and high-quality HDR video capture owing to the addition of 12-bit DCG (dual conversion gain) support. And now, we have a new update regarding the Helio G200 — Tecno has confirmed that their Spark 40 Pro+ will be the first smartphone to feature the newly launched octa-core processor.
The Helio G200 chip is based on TSMC 6nm architecture, and consists of two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz along with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked at 1.1GHz. It supports LPDDR4X RAM at a maximum frequency of 4266Mbps, UFS 2.2 storage, dual 4G SIMs with VoLTE and ViLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, 200MP single cameras / 16MP dual cameras, and Full HD+ 120Hz displays.
