The Sims 5 rumors suggest 2021 release date — What to expect?

As rumors point to a 2021 release, we talk about everything we expect to see in the Sims 5 game.

Electronic Arts, the publisher of The Sims franchise, might be the most hated video game company on the planet. But, mind you — that isn’t stopping gamers from enjoying one of the best life simulation game series of all time. In fact, the last installment The Sims 4 — a 2014 game, which has recently touched 20 million players, is still so popular that EA has no choice but to roll out new additions every now and then. As well as providing new updates to the last iteration, EA is also working on the sequel The Sims 5, according to CEO Andrew Wilson.

EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson has confirmed that the upcoming Sims game will have both single and multiplayer modes, like The Sims Online. He did not speak at length about the games besides that, suggesting the game could still be in the early pre-production stage. Or not. Whatever the case may be, here is everything we expect to see in the upcoming The Sims 5 game.

The Sims 5 should bring back the open-world gameplay

Sure The Sims 3 had its flaws, but the concept of the open-world gameplay as executed in the game was just beautiful. But that changed with The Sims 4 and you could be anywhere you want in a matter of ‘loading screens’. One could argue that things got smoother with that small change but for many of us, it hasn’t been the same ever since.

Considering that Sims 3 came out in 2009 and that we now have games that mastered open-world gameplay like the GTA 5, the idea of a full-fledged open world in the incoming The Sims 5 game isn’t really that far-fetched.

Another major addition should be drivable vehicles

One of the best things about The Sims 3 is that it was truly like the real world and you could just drive anywhere you want on a bike or a car. Again, it was removed in The Sims 4 in favor of more loading screens, in an attempt to make the game run smoothly.

A majority of Sims fans want Maxis and EA to include vehicles (in fact a lot more of them) in the upcoming iteration of the game series.

The Sims 5 Release Date: When will the game come out?

If we are to go by the latest rumors, The Sims 5 will come out sometime next year, 2021. However, it is worth noting that EA is still hell-bent on releasing new upgrades for The Sims 4 and thus the odds of a new release in 2021 seem very unlikely.

Nevertheless, we will keep you updated with the potential release date of The Sims 5 if any new information surfaces.
